What are the award categories?
We offer seven main award categories in the fields of Global Citizenship Education, Social and Emotional Learning, Transformative Pedagogies and Technologies, and Aesthetic Education. For a detailed description of each category, refer to the 2024 Award Category section.
Who can be nominated?
Individuals: Teachers, leaders, or education professionals working in the education sector.
Organizations: Schools, NGOs, or other organizations promoting education and SDG 4.
Groups/Teams: Registered or unregistered groups working together on education projects.
Can I nominate myself or my organization?
Yes, self-nominations are allowed. However, a signed letter of recommendation from a colleague or organization is required when submitting the form.
What do I need to submit a nomination?
You’ll need the nominee's details, a description of their achievements, and any supporting documents like references or video testimonials (optional but recommended).
When is the deadline to submit a nomination?
The deadline is June 01, 2025. Ensure the form is submitted by this date as late submissions will be automatically disqualified.
Can unregistered groups apply?
Yes! Unregistered or informal groups can apply under the Group/Team award category. We welcome nominations for grassroots initiatives, community-based teams, or collaborative efforts.
What if I’m not sure which category to pick?
Kindly check the 2025 Award Category for a description of each award.
How are the nominations reviewed?
A panel of education leaders will review all nominations based on the impact and relevance of their work.
What happens after I submit a nomination?
After submission, your nomination will be reviewed by our panel. If additional information is required, we will reach out to you. Winners will be announced on November 13, 2025, at the ICTE 2025 Conference.
How will I know if my nominee has been shortlisted?
If shortlisted, you will receive an email notification. Finalists will also be announced on our website and social media platforms.
Can I submit multiple nominations?
No, we only accept one submission per nominee.
Can I nominate someone anonymously?
No, all nominations require the nominator’s details.
Do I need to submit proof of the nominee's accomplishments?
Yes, supporting documents such as references, letters of recommendation, or video testimonials are highly encouraged.
Is there a nomination fee?
No, there is no fee to submit a nomination.
What should I do if I don’t have a letter of support for my self-nomination?
A letter of support is required for self-nominations. We suggest reaching out to a colleague or peer for this.
Are there any restrictions on who can nominate?
No, anyone can nominate as long as they provide accurate details and have a connection to the nominee.
Do all nominations need to be in English?
Yes, all nominations and supporting documents should be submitted in English.
Can I nominate a project that has ended?
Yes, as long as the project had a lasting impact on education, it is eligible even if it has concluded.
Awards and Recognition
Awardees will receive the following benefits:
Verifiable Credential on Blockchain: The Awardee will receive a digital badge that can be securely verified on the blockchain, recognizing their achievements and commitment to excellence in education.
Feature on the Ed Magazine: The Awardee will be featured in the featured magazine, providing visibility and recognition for their contributions to the education sector.
Access to the GCF Educators Exclusive Community: Awardee will gain access to a dedicated network of over 800 educators, thought leaders, and changemakers. This exclusive community will foster collaboration, sharing of best practices, and professional development opportunities.
Special Letter of Appreciation from GCF: The awardee will receive a personalized letter of appreciation from the Global Citizenship Foundation, acknowledging their efforts and impact in the field of education.
Access to exclusive workshops and conferences: Awardees will receive access to workshops, webinars, or conferences that can enhance their professional skills and knowledge.
